TET qualification is must for the post of an assistant primary teacher

The basic education minister said that it is not necessary to pass the TET exam for Sikhsha Mitra; But not in any other case . As per the orders, it is must that the candidate must be TET qualified if he/she is going to apply for the post of an assistant primary teacher, even for the recruitment on competencies ground .

On the hearing of a case, Allahabad High Court ordered this . The case was :-

Petitioner, Brij Kishore Srivastava’s father died on 25.7.2010. He was a regular employee. So the petitioner applied for compassionate appointment on the post of Assistant Teacher as he is the only son . The case has been rejected by high court saying that it is must to pass the TET exam first for a primary teacher post .

Now the petitioners have filed a appeal that at-least he should be considered for any other appropriate post according to his qualification .
