According to a leading Hindi news paper in Uttar Pradesh ( UP ), Amar Ujala; As per SSA plans, lakhs of teacher candidates were going to recruitment this year but it just left on papers & files .  About 4 years to go and still now; The government is not able to notify any vacancies for teachers in primary school . TET ( UPTET ) was organised in 2011; and its controversies are not ending till now .

Previously government had planned to recruit candidates on the basis of TET merit but now they are talking about GUNAK merit . SP government elected 9 months ago and after such long time, there is no big news .

What is happening in the state ( Education, Schools ) ?

• The schools are still closed in various areas of state .
• B.Ed. candidates are committing suicide in the state .
• About 5000 schools are still closed in the state .
• And about 7,500 schools are having only one teacher; that means if the teacher goes for a holiday  the school goes for a holiday .
• Even in some middle schools, there is no teacher for main subjects such as English, Hindi, Science, Maths etc.
• About 73,000 primary teachers were going to be recruited but it is suspended since one year .
• The primary schools are running on the ‘ Siksha Mitras ‘ .
• About 25,000 posts are vacant for TGT-PGT teachers .
